The Social Work Service
Service Description
The primary aim of the Social Work Service in St. Ignatius College is to target absenteeism. The social work team consists of:
- Ms. Markeren Zammit Galea (College Social worker)
This service targets compulsory school aged students, who are habitual absentees, in support of their education, personal growth and working within the students’ educational, family, and social environment. Therefore, providing links between the school and home through social work assessment and intervention with habitually absent students, their families and school staff. School visits and home visits are carried out as and where necessary.
