The Career Advisory Service
Service Description
The Career Advisory Service at St. Ignatius College helps students make appropriate career decisions by providing information and advice on available education, training, and employment opportunities. The Career Advisor in charge of this service is:
- Ms. Ann Julene Hili (Principal Career Advisor)
- Ms Heather Briffa
Students are supported to develop career plans based on their skills, interests, values and abilities. This is carried out through different career guidance programmes according to the students’ needs. One-to-one sessions with the students are also held to help the students understand themselves and the world of work. Students are supported in their transitions from one educational stage to another, with the aim of encouraging lifelong learning and effective employability.
The Career Advisory team also strives to keep up to date with labour market information, legislation, professional and academic developments. This is done by visiting employers, training providers and training events run by educational and professional bodies. Furthermore, strong collaborative partnerships are established with institutions of further and higher education and with a range of employers, trade unions and non-governmental organizations, amongst others.
