The Assessment for Learning Curricular Service

Ms. Maruska Magro, is the Head of Department Assessment for Learning assigned to St Ignatius College. The service offered aspires to sustain an ongoing dialogue with school communities to embrace opportunities that enable all learners to direct their learning forward through formative practices.
The Key Roles and Responsibilities of Ms. M. Magro include:
- Supporting educators and assisting school leaders by offering guidance RE: quality teaching and learning that empowers all learners through formative assessment practices in daily lessons.
- Co-ordinating and giving curricular support in the inclusion and development of formative assessment strategies through proper dialogue with class teachers while being a beacon of good practice in showcasing, disseminating, and celebrating good practices.
- Planning/managing related resource/teaching material, support programs together with EO, Assessment for Learning and the respective HOCN/EO Curriculum/Head of school.
- Assisting in attaining standards and promoting students’ learning across the schools, even as set out in the College’s aims and policies.
- Working towards the inclusion and development of formative assessment strategies in the school development plan and their implementation.
- Collaborating closely with other departments and other professionals in identifying and prioritising requests for intervention, action, and subsequent follow up activities.
- Contributing to and supporting continuous professional development or professional learning sessions at College, school, and system level.
