Built around the late 1920’s, Qormi San Ġorġ Primary School is situated in the heart of the old village core of Qormi. It has a unique history and character. It is the only school in Malta to boast of two Presidents of the Republic of Malta among its registered pupils together with a host of other distinguished citizens such as poets, authors, members of parliament, creative artists, athletes and so on.  During the second world war the building was simultaneously used as a school, an old people’s home, and a hospital. Thanks to good fortune or a miracle perhaps, the entire community within the school was saved after a targeted attack on the building.

Originally built to cater for the education of infants, boys, and girls of primary school age, part of the school also served as a secondary school for boys for a while.  It now caters exclusively for the education of children between the ages of 3 and 10 years of age. Together with the community the school is committed to providing a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes the holistic development of each child.
