Positive Behaviour Support Service

Positive Behaviour Support Service

Service Description

The Positive Behaviour Support Service at St. Ignatius College entails providing support for schools and students regarding issues that arise from challenging behaviour. Thus, identifying skills educators and students lack vis-à-vis positive behaviour to plan and implement the necessary responsive interventions. These interventions are implemented using a one-to-one approach by liaising with Guidance teachers, counsellors, INCO, Educational Psychologist, and other community agencies. All interventions are planned with the Schools’ Senior Management Teams and caregivers depending on the arising issues.

Class observations and interventions, together with group sessions are held depending on the need. Hence, making the monitoring of behaviour an ongoing process.

Behaviour management meetings are held regularly to review the effectiveness and practicality of interventions and to hear the voice of the teachers for further support. In addition, meetings, case conferences, and training are part of the Positive Behaviour Management Agenda within schools. This service is run by:

  • Ms. Audrey Schembri (Head of Department Positive Behaviour Management)
